The Health Home is a full-size 24’ x 40’ condominium-style living space that displays green technologies and sustainable products, all of which are currently available. The Healthy Home—formerly the Sustainable Condo®—was moved to The Hangar at the Downsview Park Sports Centre as part of a larger educational exhibit focusing on green technologies.

The Healthy Home will be open for public viewing and guided tours following the launch on March 11, and will remain on display until December 31, 2010.

The Healthy Home exhibit will serve as a tangible expression of PDP’s Sustainable Community Development Guidelines and further serves as a tool to explain how individuals can lessen their home’s impact on the environment and demonstrate how simple choices can affect positive change for the environment and long-term opportunities for financial rewards.

The Healthy Home/Sustainable Condo is a project by EcoSmart Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver and supported by a strong group of industry leaders in sustainability including Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Parc Downsview Park Inc. (PDP), Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Sears Canada, NIKKA DESIGN and a range of other Canadian partners.
